Adapting to Life on Mongolia's Steppes: A struggle for Existence
Rollercoaster Ride through Mongolia's Rough Terrain
My five-day trek through Mongolia's towering mountains and barren steppes was an unforgettable adventure, filled with ups and downs.
For the final three days, I found myself stranded in the heart of nowhere, with my vehicle refusing to start. This was the first time in my life where I faced genuine fear for my life and safety.
The menacing glares of the Mongols spoke of greed, dread, and malice, while the scene around me was a grim reflection of the 18th century. Despite being accompanied by a jumbled fleet of Zhiguli, Camaz, Ural, Voronka, and Evacuator, I was far from feeling secure.
I battled through the steppes, navigated the Mongolian border, braved the buffer zone, and covered 500 km to the Altai Mountains. A single photograph encapsulates the spirit of my tortuous voyage.
Stay tuned for the captivating tale of my misadventures on my seldom-updated blog (don't forget to bookmark it!).
Despite the arduous ordeal, I can't help but feel elated that this trek formed a part of my life. It challenged me, changed me, and gave me four memories I will cherish forever.
