Annual gathering held for the historical alliance "Old Salzstraße Halle-Prague," with the mayor in attendance
On July 19, 2025, the Alte Salzstraße Halle-Prag association will celebrate its 15th anniversary in style. The event will take place at the Saline, a historic location in Thale, Halle, at the Saline, Mansfelder Straße 52.
The festivities will unfold in the Festsaal of the Salzwirkerbruderschaft, a fitting venue for such a momentous occasion. The Salzwirkerbruderschaft is located in the heart of Thale, Halle.
The association, dedicated to promoting tourism along the historic Salt Road, which historically connected Halle and Prague, will welcome members and guests from various locations, including Saxon Loessnitz and the Czech Republic.
Mayor Egbert Geier will be a special participant in the celebrations, marking his second time participating in events related to the Salt Road. In 2023, he took part in the Salt Market in Loessnitz and cycled the Salt Road to the Erzgebirge. However, he has announced that he will not be repeating this cycling journey in 2025.
The Salt Road, a historic route connecting Halle (Saale), Loessnitz, and Prague, is a significant part of the region's history. The association aims to foster cultural exchange and boost visitor interest in the region through events, preservation projects, and tourism initiatives.
