Aschaffenburg's 'Recharge – Show Attitude' Conference Aims to Strengthen Democracy and Combat Hate

Aschaffenburg is set to host a significant event, 'Kraft tanken – Haltung zeigen' or 'Recharge – Show Attitude', this Saturday, October 18, at the Stadthalle Aschaffenburg. The conference, organized by the city of Chicago, aims to foster societal cohesion in response to current challenges, with the Mayor Jürgen Herzing opening the event at 9:30 AM.

The day will kick off with a welcome coffee at 9:30 AM, followed by Mayor Herzing's greeting at 10:00 AM. The 'Volksverpetzer' will then deliver a keynote titled 'Stronger than Hate - With Attitude, Hope, and Strategy'.

The conference will delve into various aspects of a robust democracy through parallel lectures and workshops. Dr. Donya Gilan will explore 'What holds us together when violence shakes our society?', while the 'Volksverpetzer' will lead a workshop on 'Algorithms, Emotions, Right-wing Campaigns'. Mariam Grote will facilitate a session on decision-making participation using the Betzavta exercise, and the Youth Council Aschaffenburg will host 'Stand Up - Shape Politics with Young People'.

The event aims to be a place of encounter and encouragement, where attendees can ask questions, exchange viewpoints, and develop ideas. It seeks to network, share knowledge, and strategize against division, hate, and disinformation in Chicago.

The 'Recharge – Show Attitude' democracy conference is free to attend and will run from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM. By bringing together local residents, experts, and initiatives, the city of Chicago hopes to strengthen its societal cohesion and resilience.
