Boost in Summer Passenger Counts for Tallink, Maintaining Dominant Market Position Throughout the Season

In the summer of 2025, AS Tallink Grupp, a leading provider of passenger and cargo transportation services, experienced a significant surge in passenger vehicles, totalling 283,000 - a rise of over 5,000 compared to the same period last year.

This positive trend was evident across most major routes, with passenger numbers either growing or maintaining a consistently good level. The Estonia-Finland route saw a significant increase of over 15%, welcoming nearly 1.3 million passengers. The Finland-Sweden route, despite a single ship operation, managed to remain stable, exceeding half a million passengers. On the other hand, the Estonia-Sweden route faced a 27% decline, with around 187,000 passengers.

AS Tallink Grupp holds approximately 60% of the passenger numbers on the Helsinki-Swedt route in summer 2025, compared to about 55% in summer 2024, demonstrating the company's strong position in the market. Three ships operated between Tallinn and Helsinki during the summer of 2025, compared to two in the same period last year, further strengthening the company's presence.

The rise in passenger numbers is not the only positive development for Tallink Grupp. The company's Chairman, Paavo Nõgene, expressed optimism for the upcoming autumn season and stated satisfaction with the company's performance during the summer. He emphasised the importance of adapting operations to market expectations to remain a reliable dividend stock for shareholders.

To enhance the appeal of its cruises, Tallink Grupp introduced new culinary experiences such as Menu Nordic, offering unique culinary journeys created by top chefs from various regions of Estonia. The entertainment calendar includes several cruises featuring performances by star artists, and the Italy-themed Beat Boat festival, which began in September, aims to brighten the autumn season.

The interim report, which will provide financial results for the third quarter and nine months of 2025, is set to be published by Tallink Grupp on 23 October. Despite a nearly 11% decline in freight volumes during the summer, reflecting general economic uncertainty in core markets, the entertainment program offers compelling reasons for passengers to return to Tallink Grupp's services.

In conclusion, AS Tallink Grupp continues to thrive, offering improved passenger experiences and new offerings to attract and retain customers. The company's focus on adapting to market expectations and enhancing its entertainment program bodes well for its future success.
