Bremen Delegation Explores Trade, Logistics, and Investment Opportunities in Northwest Morocco

A high-level delegation from Bremen and Bremerhaven, led by the Bremen Chamber of Commerce, recently visited Northwest Morocco. The trip, which took place from March 2nd to 7th, explored potential collaboration in trade, logistics, and investment between the two regions.

The delegation, headed by Dr. Matthias Fonger, CEO of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce, visited key cities including Tangier, Tetouan, and Casablanca. In Tangier, they held productive talks with local investment promotion agencies, the textile industry, training facilities, and the Ministry of Transformation and Sustainable Development. They also visited the Tangier Automotive City (TAC) and the Tangier Industrial Zone, home to over 500 foreign companies.

In Tetouan, the delegation was impressed by the vocational training programs they witnessed at a local school. They also praised the modern infrastructure of the region, as highlighted by Handelskammer President Eduard-Dubbers-Albrecht. The visit to the deep-water port of Tanger-Med, one of the world's most modern container ports, further underscored the potential of the region for trade and logistics. The delegation also met with the Tangier Free Zone Authority and the Tanger Med Port Authority to discuss collaboration prospects in these areas.

In Casablanca, the delegation met with economic representatives and visited the OCP Group, the world's largest producer of phosphates and fertilizers. Harry Jasching-Oechsin, CEO of Ospig, emphasized the potential of Morocco for shortening supply routes.

The visit by the North German economic delegation to Northwest Morocco has opened up new avenues for cooperation between the two regions. With its modern infrastructure, ambitious training programs, and strategic location, Morocco presents significant opportunities for German companies seeking to expand their operations. The Bremen Chamber of Commerce, led by Dr. Matthias Fonger, has expressed interest in facilitating access to skilled labor for German companies, paving the way for further collaboration.
