Brussels Airlines Welcomes First A320neo for Comfort & Sustainability Boost

Brussels Airlines has welcomed its first Airbus A320neo, received directly from the Airbus factory in Toulouse on November 1, 2023. This marks the beginning of a significant fleet renewal and improvement plan for the airline.

The new A320neo promises a more comfortable travel experience with a new cabin concept featuring ergonomic seats and adaptable lighting. Passengers can also enjoy a quieter flight and additional storage space for hand luggage.

The aircraft's eco-friendly credentials are impressive. It reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 20% compared to previous models, contributing to Brussels Airlines' sustainability goals. Noise reduction of up to 50% is also expected, making it a welcome addition to the fleet.

By summer 2026, Brussels Airlines plans to have three more A320neo aircraft. Two will replace older A319s, while the third will expand the fleet. The airline is also bolstering its long-haul capabilities with three more Airbus A330, featuring a complete cabin redesign at a cost of over 100 million euros. However, the specific destinations for these new long-haul aircraft are yet to be announced.

The arrival of the first A320neo signals Brussels Airlines' commitment to enhancing passenger comfort and sustainability. With more of these aircraft and additional A330s joining the fleet in the coming years, the airline is set to offer improved services and reduce its environmental impact.
