Dien Bien Boosts Tourism with Thai Cooperation
Dien Bien province, northwest Vietnam, is set to bolster its tourism sector through international cooperation, with a focus on partnerships with Thai localities. The province, renowned for its strategic location and potential, has garnered support from the Thai Ambassador and local officials.
Thai Ambassador Urawadee Sripriromya has commended Dien Bien's potential and pledged support for training courses, image promotion, and cultural exchanges. Meanwhile, Pham Duc Toan, Standing Vice Chairman of Dien Bien's provincial People's Committee, has sought Thai assistance in human resources training, image promotion, tour connectivity, and investment attraction for eco-tourism and community-based tourism.
A recent workshop on fortifying tourism and economic cooperation with Thai localities explored topics such as state management in tourism, tourism product development, sustainable resource exploitation, tourism entrepreneurship, smart tourism, and tour design and pricing. The province aims to learn from Thai success stories through cooperation and study visits, including organizing delegations to Thailand to research tourism development. This is part of a broader strategy to enhance human resource training, image marketing, route linking, and investment attraction, particularly in eco-tourism and community-based tourism.
Dien Bien province is dedicated to cultivating tourism as a key economic sector, with international cooperation being a vital factor. Through alliances with Thai localities, the province aspires to enrich its tourism offerings, draw investments, and foster sustainable growth in the sector.
