Get ready, Neuss Carnival enthusiasts! The motto for this year's Ovend is finally here, and it's got a bit of political flair: "Alea iacta est, mer wähle jetz". That means "The die is cast, choose now" in Latin, with a local twist. So, dust off your togas, tunics, or gladiator gear and let's party like it's 19 BC at the Neuss Ovend!

As the political scene heats up with elections just around the corner, expect some good-natured roasting of the Neuss candidates. From butchers to comedians, they're all fair game!

The music lineup for 2025 will be nothing short of fantastic. Local favorites and rising stars from Rhine Carnival metropolises will join the fun, led by Kaarster Chris Kauffmann. He'll get the crowd pumped with some classic Carnival hits. Bohei, the Koelsch band hailing from the Carnival world capital, will set the mood. "Alt Schuss" from the neighboring city and "Neuss Jung" (Markus Lenz) add a regional touch. The show wouldn't be complete without the Federal Fanfare Corps (BFK) and the accompanying band "Die Kleinenbroicher".

The BKG Dancing Girls of TSV Norf will return as the dance guard of the Heimatfreunde. They'll be marching in with the Elferrat and making several appearances on stage.

Of course, no Neuss Ovend would be complete without some wordplay, comedic analysis of local politics, and scandals. Annette Gratz will kick things off with her prologue (Carnival tradition), followed by the return of Thilly Meester.

"This year's Neuss Jecken can expect local cabaret, Rhineland music, and good humor," says Jean Heidbüchel, President of the Elferrat. "We're looking forward to presenting real Carnival stars and regional acts again."

So, mark your calendars. Tickets for the Neuss Ovend can be purchased for 27.50 euros at the Heimatfreunde's business office (check www.heimatfreunde-neuss.de/kontakt/ for hours) or pre-ordered by emailing [email protected].
