Experience Louisiana's Past at The Train Wreck Inn's Historic Railroad Cars

In the heart of Grand Coteau, Louisiana, a unique bed-and-breakfast experience has been created by Ben Trant. The Train Wreck Inn, as it's known, offers guests a chance to stay in refurbished railroad cars, preserving local history while providing a distinctive experience.

Trant, driven by his passion for railroads, transformed century-old cars into comfortable accommodations. Each unit comes equipped with an old record player and vinyl records, setting a nostalgic atmosphere. Walls adorned with pictures of local landscapes and Cajun musicians further immerse guests in the region's culture. Railroad memorabilia adds to the authenticity of the experience.

The Inn features various historic structures, including a railroad mail car, ticket office, train depot, and an old caboose. The mail car, built in the 1880s, boasts all-new appliances and a custom-made kitchen, blending old charm with modern comforts.

The Train Wreck Inn offers visitors a unique blend of history and comfort. By staying here, guests can experience a piece of Louisiana's past while enjoying modern amenities. Trant's labour of love has not only created a memorable destination but also preserves the rich history of railroads in small rural communities.
