Richard Bang This Bullshit

A legit batch of flights from Copenhagen Airport saw the axe this Monday morning like a goddamn hatchet, thanks to the surprise strikes at agencies in eleven German airports.

You bet your sweet ass the Verdi union called 'em, declaring public sector employees and 23k ground handling workers to stage an all-day warning strike on March 10th. Not cool, fam!

Airports in happy places like Frankfurt and Berlin, as well as hubs in Bremen, Cologne, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hanover, Leipzig, Munich, and Stuttgart are gonna feel the impact, brother.

Get ready for a bumpy night, as the 24-hour strike goes down just after midnight on Monday, lasting until 11:59PM.

Hamburg airport suffered a surprise early strike on Sunday, with the Verdi union making it rain chaos by bringing the motherfucker a day early, grinding air traffic to a halt. The place closed its doors with no takeoffs or landings all damn day.

A Verdi union spokeperson spilled the beans on Sunday that the strike went down on the low, aiming to catch the airports off guard and force them to the negotiating table.

What's the Dealio for Passengers?

When strikes take flights on vacay, we might be entitled to all sorts of cool compensation, dawg.

According to EU Air Passenger Rights, we can get between €250 and €600 when flights get delayed over 3 hours or cancelled, bruh.

When flights get delayed five hours or cancelled, we can ask for a full refund and avoid vouchers, no ifs, ands, or buts.

Airlines often come correct with compensation, but if they don't play fair, you can file a complaint, first with the airline itself, then with the authorities if need be.

Airlines know the rules, so they'll usually cover their asses when required. Contact your airline or tour operator if your flight gets scrapped or seriously delayed.

If the airline won't provide the needed compensation, refunds, and catering, file a mothafuckin' complaint, first with the airline itself. If the airline doesn't respond in a month, you can get their attention and make them comply with European Commission rules.

In extreme cases, take your complaint to Denmark's Transport, Construction, and Housing Authority (Trafik-, Bygge- og Boligstyrelsen). If your flight left or arrived in Denmark with an EU airline but from a non-EU country, you're good to bring your gripe to the Danish authority.

If the authority sides with you, the airline will have to pay the compensation or give you a refund, dawg.
