Flights to Israel by Lufthansa Group will resume on August 1st.
After a temporary suspension due to regional conflicts earlier in the year, several major airlines have announced plans to gradually resume flights to Israel from August 2025. Here's a rundown of the scheduled resumption of international flights to Israel by some of the leading carriers.
Lufthansa Group Leads the Way
The Lufthansa Group, which includes Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings, will resume flights to Israel starting from August 1, 2025. Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines will resume flights from Frankfurt, Munich, and Vienna to Tel Aviv with a total of 44 weekly flights. Brussels Airlines will follow suit on August 13, resuming flights from Brussels. Eurowings has extended the suspension of its flights to Israel until October 25, 2025.
Swiss, another member of the Lufthansa Group, plans to resume flights to Israel by the end of September 2025, although details are yet to be released. This makes Swiss the last to resume flights among the Lufthansa Group airlines.
United Airlines and Delta Air Lines Join the Fray
United Airlines has already resumed flights from its Newark hub to Tel Aviv, operating two daily flights. Delta Air Lines is set to join the fray on September 1, 2025, resuming flights from New York to Tel Aviv.
Wizz Air Takes the Lead Among Budget Carriers
Wizz Air, one of the budget airlines, is likely to be the first to retake its market share in Israel. The airline will return to full-capacity in Israel by September, with the first flights resuming on August 8.
Ryanair to Resume Flights in Late October
Ryanair's Israel flights are set to restart with the winter schedule starting at the end of October 2025, marking a delay compared to other airlines.
It's worth noting that easyJet has suspended its flights to Israel until March 2026.
Jozsef Varadi, Chief Executive of Wizz Air, has stated that operations are safe and secured in Israel. He also mentioned that the situation in Israel can change, but they have a system to monitor safety and security.
This schedule reflects a cautious and phased resumption of international flights to Israel by these carriers spanning August through September 2025, with some delays extending to late October for certain airlines like Eurowings and Ryanair. The resumption of these flights is a positive step towards restoring normalcy and boosting tourism in the region.
