Germany's Retailers Kickstart Halloween Early With Decorations Boom
Retailers in Germany, such as Müller, are set to kickstart Halloween preparations earlier than ever. From September 2021, stores will adorn their windows with festive decorations. This shift comes as consumers show a growing preference for Halloween decorations over costumes and candy.
The demand for Halloween decorations has surged. People are not only buying more but also spending more on this category. Total spending is projected to reach a staggering $4.2 billion this year, a significant increase of $1.6 billion from 2019.
Lights, cobwebs, and other hanging decorations top the list of favourites. The trend is so strong that 78% of shoppers plan to purchase Halloween decorations, up from 72% in 2019.
Consumers are eager to get into the Halloween spirit early. Almost half of early Halloween shoppers start putting up their decorations in September, with 45% doing so in the first half of October.
The Halloween decorations market is booming. Retailers are responding by starting their festive displays earlier. Consumers are embracing this trend, with a significant increase in spending and a shift in preference towards Halloween decorations over other Halloween items.
