Dial in to Culture: Phone Tours of the Hamburger Kunsthalle for All

It's now easier than ever to join the art world, thanks to the Hamburger Kunsthalle's new phone tours! As part of the "Call for Culture" project, this inclusive offering invites up to 15 individuals to engage in an hour-long exploration of the museum's impressive collection from the comfort of their own homes.

This exciting, no-cost opportunity caters to those who may struggle to access cultural experiences due to various reasons, such as visual impairments, mobility restrictions, financial constraints, or discomfort in large crowds.

The "Call for Culture" project, initiated by the Hamburg Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired in partnership with others, started during the pandemic in 2021. Funding comes from Aktion Mensch, the Hamburg cultural authority, and donations. Now, the Hamburger Kunsthalle becomes the 100th partner in this inspiring project, showcasing the growing significance of inclusive art access for all.

111 cultural institutions, ranging from Berlin's Museum Island to Stuttgart's Staatsgalerie and Weimar's Goethe's Garden House, already share their content via "Call for Culture."

The Hamburger Kunsthalle places high value on the personal connection between art and visitors, and this phone tour represents another important stride in that direction. As Andrea Weniger, Head of Education & Mediation at the Hamburg Kunsthalle, noted to the German Press Agency: "The phone tours complement our ongoing efforts to make art accessible to everyone."
