Harburg Town Hall Welcomes Three Kings for Epiphany Celebration

The Harburg Town Hall welcomed the Three Kings today, a group of 24 children from class 3a of the Catholic School Harburg, led by Birgit Mittag and Birgit Masur. Dressed as Caspar, Melchior, Balthasar, and star bearers, they brought blessings to the town hall, marking the Epiphany celebration.

Deputy district administrator Dierk Trispel greeted the Three Kings on behalf of Sophie Fredenhagen. The children, dressed in traditional costumes, were then treated to a tour of the large meeting room. As a small surprise, they received sweets and mandarins.

The highlight of their visit was nine-year-old Melvin, dressed as King Balthasar, writing the chalk mark '20*C+M+B+24' on the wooden door of the large meeting room. This tradition, known as the 'Three Kings' blessing', is a symbol of good luck and protection for the coming year.

The Three Kings of the Pfarrei St. Maximilian Kolbe visited the Harburg Town Hall, bringing joy and tradition to the community. Despite the lack of information about the teacher who accompanied them, the event was a memorable one, marking the start of the new year with a touch of history and festivity.
