Herford District Completes Sixth Cycling Route Inspection

The Herford district, renowned for its cycling infrastructure, recently underwent its sixth bicycle route directions inspection. This follows the district's admission to the 'Working Group of pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly cities' last year. The latest inspection, led by Uwe Nolte from the Road Traffic Office, covered a 40-kilometer route starting from the House of Guests at Pemberville Place 1.

The inspection team, dressed in helmets and high-visibility vests, reviewed various aspects of the cycling network. They assessed the necessity of bollards on bicycle paths, checked traffic signs, road conditions, markings, height differences, and field of vision restrictions. The route covered municipal, district, federal, and state roads, demonstrating the comprehensive nature of the inspection. Previous inspections in the district included Kirchlengern, Spenge, Hiddenhausen, Vlotho, and Enger. The district also offers cycling safety training for pedelec and e-bike users.

The sixth bicycle route directions inspection in the Herford district was a comprehensive review of the cycling infrastructure. The findings will help maintain and improve the safety and accessibility of cycling paths in the district, which is committed to promoting cycling as a sustainable mode of transport.
