Industrious path forged by Olivetti, Ivrea charts a visionary course connecting industry, tourism, and the environment

The Canavese2030 Foundation, dedicated to the development of the Canavese territory, has presented a comprehensive report outlining a development path for the region. The path includes both macro-projects and infrastructure projects, with a focus on social innovation, tourism, and collaboration with regional authorities.

The report, which encompasses 179 projects in various fields, highlights 16 macro-projects and 6 infrastructure projects. One of the notable macro-projects is the Sentiero delle Pietre bianche, which won the Call for Ideas with schools last year.

The Canavese development model is attentive to social issues and questions themes related to impact and inclusion. It aims for a shared and conscious development model, with a focus on enhancing local quality of life, promoting inclusion, and leveraging cultural heritage. This approach is encapsulated in the Foundation's model of social innovation named "New Community."

The Canavese territory, recognised as a UNESCO heritage for its industrial architecture, sees tourist relaunch as a driver of development. The region aims to represent at least 50% of the tourist flow of the Langhe, emphasising cultural, historical, and natural assets unique to the territory, promoting sustainable and thematic tourism routes.

The Foundation involves schools, associations, and citizens in a co-design perspective of the territory. This collaborative approach extends to regional authorities, with coordination between municipalities, the regional government, and sometimes EU funding programs to align goals, share resources, and implement projects that boost economic and social cohesion.

The Red Guide to Good Living is a tool that interprets part of the spirit of the work started. It serves as a compass for the development path, converging in the pursuit of a better quality of life for the people of Canavese.

Next year, a similar co-design initiative will be launched for citizens, further engaging the community in the development process. For detailed, authoritative strategies and models specific to the Canavese region, it is recommended to consult regional planning documents or institutional websites related to the Piedmont region or Canavese area.
