Insightful Evaluation of Vietnam Airlines' Business Class Experience

In a recent flight from Sydney to Ho Chi Minh City, travellers experienced the full-service Business Class product offered exclusively by Vietnam Airlines on the SYD-SGN route. The flight, VN772, was operated by VN-A896, an Airbus A350-900, featuring Safran Cirrus III Business Class seats in a reverse-herringbone layout.

Seats in Business Class offered a nearly lie-flat bed, direct aisle access, and a 15.4-inch retractable touchscreen IFE, enhancing the movie experience slightly more than the Premium Economy cabin's screens. Each Business Class passenger received a Cerruti 1881 Amenity Kit containing various items for comfort and hygiene.

The cabin crew delivered top-tier service, rivalling the best, and passengers were treated to a visit to the SkyTeam Alliance Lounge at Sydney International before boarding. The Business Class cabin also featured larger lavatories compared to Economy and Premium Economy.

The flight had two meal services: a lunch service and a refreshments service before landing. The lunch service included a Marinated Prawn with Salmon Tarator, Steamed Ling Fillet Chinese-style, and assorted desserts. The refreshments service offered three options: Smoked Salmon with Avocado Salad, Chicken Mushroom Pie, and a Dim Sum Trio, which included Char Siu Pork Bun, Spinach Prawn Dumpling, and Pork Siu Mai.

Unfortunately, WiFi was unavailable on this long-haul flight. However, the system offered Korean, Western, and Vietnamese movies, plus music and an inflight map to keep passengers entertained.

While specific differences between the first four Vietnam Airlines Airbus A350-900 aircraft and the subsequent ones in terms of Business Class and Premium Economy seating configurations are not explicitly detailed, the Premium Economy class featured a 2-4-2 seating configuration with 40 seats, offering adjustable headrests, footrests, and a recline of about 6 inches with a pitch of 36 inches. Lounge access was provided only for Business Class passengers, while Premium Economy passengers could purchase access to the Marhaba Lounge.

Despite the lack of detailed information comparing the early and later A350-900s specifically in terms of seat layout or features for Business or Premium Economy classes, this flight provided a comfortable and memorable journey for those fortunate enough to travel in Business Class on Vietnam Airlines' Airbus A350-900.
