Bettina Bunge, a seasoned destination marketing expert with international experiences, has announced her departure from her role as the managing director of Schleswig-Holstein Tourist Agency (TASH). On November 1, Bunge will take up the position of CEO and Director General of the Luxembourg Convention Bureau (LCB) in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

In her new role, Bunge will oversee the global marketing for the entire meetings and conventions sector in Luxembourg. This transition marks a significant milestone in the LCB's strategic renewal, aligning with Luxembourg's commitment to developing business tourism and enhancing its reputation as a hub for professional events.

During her eight-year tenure at TASH, Bunge played a crucial role in strategically building up the agency, professionalizing domestic and international marketing, restructuring collaborations, and significantly shaping Schleswig-Holstein's tourism. Her contributions to TASH culminated in a record result for Schleswig-Holstein in 2024, with around 9.4 million guest arrivals and over 38 million overnight stays, including camping.

Economy State Secretary Julia Carstens expressed regret at Bunge's decision but acknowledged the success of her tenure at TASH. "We respect her personal decision," Carstens said, adding that a successor for Bunge's position will be sought shortly.

Bunge's extensive background includes roles in various prominent tourism organizations, such as Hamburg Tourismus, Dresden Marketing, and the German National Tourist Board, preparing her for the challenges and opportunities she will face in her new role.
