Powerscourt Distillery's Visitor Centre Unveils Luxurious Design by MILLIMETRE DESIGN
MILLIMETRE DESIGN, a renowned Irish interior architecture and design studio, has been selected to create the interior of the Powerscourt Distillery Visitor Centre. The centre, which opened in May 2023, offers tours, events, whiskey retail, and a café bar. The studio's design, praised by Ashley Gardiner, Co-founder/Director of Powerscourt Distillery, embodies the premium quality of Fercullen whiskey.
MILLIMETRE DESIGN, led by its Managing Director (name not specified), designed the visitor centre's interior, including an AV theatre, four tasting rooms, a gift shop, and a café bar. The design reflects the distillery's setting and tradition, incorporating materials such as oak, natural stone, and copper. The reception area features a unique pyran glass floor revealing the original underground mill and a soundscape of running water. The retail space and café boast premium finishes like solid oak herringbone flooring and brass trim details. The studio aimed to capture the premium quality of Powerscourt Distillery's Fercullen whiskey in every aspect of the design.
