Leave the chaos behind and embrace the tranquility of the Mecklenburg Lake District Pilgrimage Route
Redesigned Path of the Pilgrim
Feeling the need for some peace and introspection? Look no further! Reverend Britta Carstensen, of Neustrelitz, assures you that the Mecklenburg Lake District Pilgrimage Route is just what you need to find solace and ease your troubled mind. No need to venture all the way to Spain—this 230-kilometer trail is right here in Germany!
This route, redesigned for convenience, now boasts an interactive route map, updated listings of accommodations, and a user-friendly interface to make your planning a breeze. The route is split into two parts: one route travels west of Lake Tollensee via Neustrelitz and Wesenberg, while the other follows the east side of Lake Tollensee towards Röbel, Steinmühle, and Fürstenberg, before ending in Mirow. Both routes can be explored on the revamped website.
Your journey made easier
Felicitas Rohde-Schaeper, in charge of the pilgrimage route, explains that the old website was over a decade old and lacked essential features. Now, finding your way is as simple as pie! Just remember, Felicitas is always there to help with any questions about the route, accommodations, or content-related matters.
One common complaint from pilgrims is that the churches along the route are often closed. Felicitas and her colleagues are working diligently to address this issue and ensure future pilgrims can enjoy a fully immersive experience.
A path to camaraderie and growth
On International Women's Day, March 8, Felicitas is organizing another "Women's Pilgrimage Day," this time with the theme of "Loving Actions." The eight-kilometer route begins in Friedland and follows the pilgrimage route to Roga. Transportation will be provided for the return trip to Friedland. Interested women can register with Felicitas by March 5, via phone at 0151 5044 1932 or email at [email protected].
