Reverend's Lego Ministry Brings Children Together, Engages Them Creatively
Reverend James Spencer, a Lego enthusiast since childhood, has initiated an innovative ministry at his church. Using donated Lego bricks, he's building replicas of local churches and engaging children in creative play and challenge projects, fostering connections between youth and the church.
Spencer's Lego outreach ministry began as a token of gratitude to his parish for their warm welcome during his first year. He's now crafted two detailed replicas of his parish's churches, complete with accessibility ramps and stained-glass windows, at a scale of one Lego stud to one foot.
The ministry involves around a dozen children who build Lego models for fun and occasionally take on challenge projects. Spencer, who also runs a Dungeons and Dragons game for local middle school children, believes these activities help create a positive presence in young people's lives, fostering better relations with the church in the long run.
The Lego models have garnered significant attention online and in the community, drawing interest to the church and its outreach efforts.
