Sleep Tourism Gains Traction in Russia as Russians Seek Rest
Sleep tourism, a trend gaining traction in Russia, involves travelling to quiet, peaceful locations to prioritise rest and catch up on sleep. Russians are increasingly aware of this concept, with a significant interest in trying it out.
Popular destinations for sleep tourism include secluded mountain cabins (29%), spa hotels near cities (28%), and retreat centers in nature (25%). Russians often choose places near their city for rest, such as the Moscow region or Golden Ring cities. The average duration Russians consider sufficient for a good night's sleep ranges from two to three days (33%) to a week to ten days (29%).
Interestingly, 76% of Russians are interested in a vacation centered around catching up on sleep. However, only 35% managed to do so during their last holiday, with 21% unable to. Half of the respondents (50%) had not heard of 'sleep tours' but found the idea appealing. Most survey participants (46%) expressed a desire to go on a 'sleeping' tour alone, with 35% preferring to go with their partner.
Sleep tourism, with its focus on rest and rejuvenation, is becoming increasingly popular in Russia. With a wide range of destinations and durations to choose from, it caters to diverse preferences. Despite challenges in actually catching up on sleep during holidays, Russians are eager to explore this new trend.
