Title: Dan Slott Bids Farewell to Marvel, Heads to DC Comics for a Superman Adventure
This year is shaping up to be an exciting time for Superman fans, with DC Comics making some major changes to the Man of Steel's universe. One of the most notable changes is the addition of Dan Slott, a well-known writer from Marvel, to the Superman team. Alongside artists Rafael Albuquerque and Marcelo Maiolo, Slott will be launching a new monthly comic series called "Superman Unlimited," which will kick off in May.
The series will be a key part of DC's "Summer of Superman" initiative and will kick off with a buzzworthy event. An asteroid filled with Green Kryptonite will crash-land on Earth, setting off a mad dash among the criminal underworld to get their hands on Superman's most significant weakness. This event will no doubt shake up Superman's world and force him to adapt by forging new alliances, developing new tech, and adopting new tactics.
Meanwhile, things are also changing at the Daily Planet. After merging with Galaxy Communications, the outlet has become a multimedia platform that prominently features characters like Jimmy, Steve Lombard, and Cat Grant. The merger has also led to the introduction of a new IT specialist, Tee-nah, King Solovar's goddaughter from Gorilla City. According to Slott, the team will take Superman and readers on a journey filled with surprising twists and turns, featuring both classic rogues and all-new friends and foes.
"Superman Unlimited" is set to release on May 21, with a 10-page prelude by Slott and Albuquerque included in the DC's Free Comic Book Day issue on May 3. The "Summer of Superman" will also include ongoing and limited books for fellow Supers like Supergirl, Superboy, and Krypto.
