Transforming Motorhome Tourism in Germany's Natural Spaces

A collaborative project between National Natural Landscapes (NNL) e.V., Association of German Nature Parks (VDN) e.V., and Caravaning Industry Association (CIVD) e.V. is set to transform caravan tourism in Germany's natural spaces. The Hessian Rhön is one of ten regions selected for this initiative.

The project aims to foster sustainable development and nature-friendly management of caravan tourism. This is particularly relevant in the Hessian part of the Rhön biosphere, where significant changes in caravan tourism have been observed, especially during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

A lecture on October 8, 2025, will delve into the future-proofing of caravan infrastructure in the region. The event will take place at the Hessian Administrative Office of the UNESCO biosphere Reserve Rhön, Hilders, from 6 to 7:30 PM. Despite our search, the name of the speaker remains unknown at this time.

This nationwide project seeks to balance tourism growth with environmental protection in Germany's most beautiful natural spaces. The upcoming lecture in the Hessian Rhön promises insights into how this can be achieved, setting the stage for a sustainable future for caravan tourism.
