Traveling by train from Allgäu to the Oktoberfest:

Munich's S-Bahn and U-Bahn services are gearing up for the upcoming Oktoberfest season, with extended hours and additional services to cater to the expected influx of visitors.

For those looking to avoid the crowds, the train offers a 20-minute interval until late after midnight, with stops at Goetheplatz and Poccistraße (U3/U6) providing alternative exit points. Visitors are advised to have their IDs with them at all times and to note that carrying beer mugs or glasses in the train is prohibited.

In addition, no balloons are allowed on trains due to the risk of causing short circuits. Large luggage is also not allowed on the Oktoberfest grounds.

The MVV's timetable information can be found on their official website.

During peak times, it is recommended to avoid using bicycles on the Stammstrecke.

For travellers coming from Füssen, Marktoberdorf, Kaufbeuren, and Buchloe, trains will run at least hourly during Oktoberfest 2025. Some trains may require a transfer in Buchloe, so travellers are advised to check connections and schedules. Trains will operate from early morning until late at night, with some extended night services on weekends and holidays.

The last ride of the S-Bahn is daily around 1.30 AM, and around 2.30 AM on weekends. The U-Bahn stations Schwanthalerhöhe and Theresienwiese are served by the U4 and U5.

Munich S-Bahn expects about 100,000 more passengers per day during the Wiesn season, so planning ahead and using public transportation is strongly encouraged. With these updates, getting to and from Oktoberfest has never been easier.
