UK's First 15-Bay Ultra-Rapid EV Charging Hub Opens at Decathlon, Stockport
A new 15-bay ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging hub has been installed at a Decathlon store in Stockport, UK. The facility, brought by Be.EV and supported by Octopus Energy Generation, offers a convenient charging solution for the town's growing EV community.
Stockport, with nearly 2,700 registered EVs, welcomes this new charging hub. Located minutes from the M60 and near a busy road with over 87,000 daily vehicles, the Decathlon store sees around 20,000 weekly visitors. This makes it an ideal spot for EV drivers to charge while shopping or commuting.
The ultra-rapid chargers can add up to 165 miles of range in just 20 minutes, a significant improvement over the several hours required by 7kW fast chargers. This speed and convenience are set to benefit both local EV drivers and those passing through the area.
