Unveiled Journey across Metzinger Vineyard's Terrain

In the picturesque region of Baden-Württemberg, more than half of the population occasionally partake in hiking, according to the German Hiking Association. To cater to this active demographic and promote sustainable leisure mobility, bwegt has been expanding its trail network nationwide since August 2023.

One of the newest additions is the bwegt hiking trail from Metzingen to Dettingen (Erms). This trail begins at the Metzingen Train Station and offers three variants: a 6.9-kilometre route, a 10.6-kilometre option, and a longer 12.6-kilometre trek.

The Metzingen – Dettingen trail is not just a hiking experience; it's an opportunity to explore local partnerships that include museums, restaurants, amusement parks, hotels, Outletcity Metzingen, tourism information, and Café Alte Schule in Dettingen.

Bwegt's mission extends beyond creating trails. The organisation promotes climate protection, traffic reduction, pedestrian traffic, public transportation, nature conservation, and tourism. By choosing public transportation for hiking arrivals and departures, hikers can help reduce traffic, noise, and land use, contributing to sustainable tourism in Baden-Württemberg.

For those with certain tickets, such as the Germany Ticket, D-Ticket JugendBW, or a bwtarif ticket, discounts are available at over 300 partners in Baden-Württemberg through the bwegtPLUS program.

To learn more about the Metzingen – Dettingen (Erms) bwegt hiking trail, or any other bwegt trails, visit bwegt.de/wanderweg. If you have questions or need further information, you can contact the Ministry of Transport Press Office via email. Additionally, a citizen liaison officer is available via an online contact form.

As the network of bwegt trails continues to grow, it offers a unique and sustainable way to explore the beautiful landscapes of Baden-Württemberg. So, why not lace up your boots and embark on an alltrails adventure today?
